A Weekend Off With No Plans, Say What?!

Okay, maybe I've been watching a little too much Hannah Montana with my four year old mini-me... or by myself... don't judge me!! ;)

I was super stoked on Friday when I realized that I didn't have ANY plans this weekend... do you know how rare of an occurrence that is for me?! I'm talking NEVER happens! I was pretty excited to have a weekend of being lazy... but, I actually ended up being quite productive!

The hubby got up early Saturday morning and went deer hunting, so it was just the kids and I. I deep cleaned their room, our bedroom, and the bathroom. I even put away all of our laundry... I'll go ahead and admit that I'm one of those people who lets their clean clothes sit folded in the laundry basket foreverrr instead of putting them away. Not the kids', I put theirs away, but the hubby's and I, yeah, not so much... haha! :) I bathed all three kids, took a shower myself, then went to put the kids in the car to go grocery shopping and I'd locked my keys in my car. Let me tell ya, I'm a pro at locking my keys in my car. You'd really think I'd have learned my lesson by now! I had to call Roadside Assistance to come get them out for me. Thank God for them!! :) Meanwhile, my mom called and wanted to keep the two older kids, so I dropped them off with her and then went grocery shopping. I got a lot of candy that I need for Aleah's Sweet Shop birthday party too! :) By the time the hubby came home from hunting, I had his fridge stocked with beer for him, an awesome cheese dip cooking in the crock pot, peanut butter blossom cookies already baked, and hot wings in the oven... wife of the year? Yeah, I know! ;) And he got a deer while hunting... he was one happy hubster! :)

Amazing Cheese Dip Recipe
16 oz. bag Mexican Blend shredded cheese
2 8 oz. packages of cream cheese
2 jars of salsa

Throw it all in the crock pot, mix it up, and heat it up! So easy and SO good!!

Sunday was pretty relaxing as well! Ivan, Aleah, and I went to breakfast at Cracker Barrel, then we went to see Ivan's best friend's son. He has Tetrology of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and it was the first time I have been able to meet him. He's SO sweet!! I got to hold him, rock him to sleep, feed him, and change his diaper... it almost gave me baby fever again... almost!! :) After that, we went and picked up Hunter and Marissa and went back home to watch football! It was altogether a very relaxing, stress free weekend! Oh, how I needed that! :)

  7. Oh, i am SO jealous!! I hate the weekends and look forward to Monday so we can get back into 'slow' mode! Theres always shopping to do and don't even get me started on church! It takes me the whole weekend just to get ready for Sunday morning!

  10. Sounds like you had a productive weekend! I love when there aren't a lot of plans on the weekend and it gives you a chance to play catch up. I am totally guilty of not putting my clothes away. Sometimes I just pick clothes out of the basket until I only have like 3 things to put away!
