Power Outage!!
I didn't realize how spoiled I really am... Until we had a crazy storm come through and lost power Friday night! We didn't get power back until Saturday night and I was about to go crazy!! I was at the theater Friday night seeing Magic Mike when the storm hit and Ivan was home with the kids. They were already in bed, but the news said a tornado was coming so he woke them up and took them all in the bathroom. What a good daddy! :) The power kept going out at the theater but they finally got it back on so we could see our movie (more about that later... But it was amazing!!). The kids all slept downstairs with us and since the power was out, so was the AC and it was SO hot!! The temperature Saturday was in the 100's and it was around 90 in our house... Miserable!! Thankfully we didn't have much damage from the storms, but a tree fell on the power line and on my momma's house! :( (pics below!) Thankfully she was safe though!! It was very scary!!

Our kids slept with us too :) I don't like all of these storms! I just saw that it said we are facing a very unstable weather pattern for the next several days and could expect more. Ack!
ReplyDeleteWe were in an ice storm that left our city without power for a month! I definitely saw how much we rely on electricity. It's good to be reminded of all that we have to be grateful for!
ReplyDeleteI hate storms like this. We had a bad one last night too. I remember being out of electricity for o2 weeks last summer- it was the worst!
ReplyDeleteGeez! Everyone has been having crazy storms! My cousins in Indiana had 91mph winds, and had some damage done, and we had a tropical storm down here in Florida like a little over a week ago. Glad you're okay!
ReplyDeleteWow! It brought down big trees! We lost a large branch off one of our trees with a storm that went through yesterday.
ReplyDeleteWe were without power too. No fun!
ReplyDeletePower outages are no fun at all! Thankfully there was no major damage, and no one was hurt.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Those are some big trees! My grandma had a BIG tree fall through her trailer about 18 months ago. It crashed through the kitchen and destroyed everything. Thankfully, insurance covered it and she wound up with a BEAUTIFUL kitchen.
ReplyDeleteSo happy that there was no major damage!
I hate it when the power goes out especially during the summertime when it is SO hot!!!
ReplyDeleteI live in Va too and that was a scary storm. We spend some time in the basement but thankfully never lost power although is flickered a number of times.
ReplyDeletestunning!
