Individualism

Hunter wanted to get a haircut similar to Macklemore's, lol.

I wasn't really thrilled by the idea, but I figured it's just hair, it'll grow back.

I remember being about 14 or so when I wanted to dye my hair blue and my mom wouldn't let me, but then she finally gave in and I dyed my whole head blue! LOL! (Trust me, I'm trying to find a picture of that to share with y'all, ha!)

It is still winter, so I didn't let him go as short as Macklemore on the sides, and we left it a little longer on the top.

After it was done, I totally love it! And I LOVE the fact that my little man is growing into a young man who wants to display his self expression.

  1. I think his hair looks great! That's so cute that he cares enough to want a particular haircut.

  2. Very cool that he's concerned about it at such a young age. Although he'll end up using more product than anyone else! ;)

  4. That is really nice that he found a style that he likes...my nephew is in this crazy in-between stage at 9 where his father has no clue what to do with his hair. I really like the back of this haircut.

  5. We have every hairstyle you could imagine. My 16 year old son has hair down past his shoulder, my 13 year just had blue hair (streaks), we have mo-hawks, faux-hawks, and lots of different styles. I'm like you, it's hair. After all, they are the ones who have to live with it. I think letting your kids have some individuality is important. I'd never want a set of cookie cutter kids. I mean how much fun would that be?!

  9. It looks really cute. My boys have been asking for mohawks and I told them that they could get them when they are 18 and living elsewhere, but as long as they live in my house - It's not gonna happen.

  19. I think it is awesome that you let him get it cut how he wants bc you are right, worse case scenario it will grow back, its just hair!

  20. His hair looks great! It's a little hard letting them take the reins isn't? I let my oldest daughter decide how she wanted her hair.
