He only had two matches because there was only one other boy in his weight class. He lost both of his matches, but he didn't get pinned, so he was happy with that! lol! I think Hunter needs to be a little more aggressive because he becomes very submissive to his opponent. I am still SO proud of him though! :)
He received the silver medal though and let me tell you, it might as well be a gold medal as far as he is concerned! He has worn that medal everywhere since he got it! I have had to make him take it off for his baths! lol!
Aleah was quite the handful while cheering her brother on. She said she was a monkey here.
She was getting tired here and kept wanting her Daddy. He couldn't hold her much because he was coaching.
Hunter has another tournament tomorrow. Wish him luck!!

Congrats on the silver medal - that is awesome. My son won a trophy in a karate tournament last year and carried it around with him for like a month LOL.
ReplyDeleteMy husband was seated to win the state wrestling tournament in high school when he instead decided to go to Thespian conference... where he met me! He reminds me of how glad he was that he made that decision, even though he missed out on winning! :)
ReplyDeleteHow fun! And what a great attitude your son has!
ReplyDeleteThat's great. Congrats on winning a silver metal, what a great accomplishment. I remember when my brother would wrestle in High School.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I bet you are one proud mama! :)

ReplyDeleteWay to go Hunter! So exciting - silver is awesome!
ReplyDeleteAwesome job Hunter! Any medal is exciting, I'm not surprised he wears it everywhere. My kids got the "complimentary medal" after their baseball season and even though it really meant nothing more than the fact that they completed the season, my 5-year-old wore it everywhere for a long time. A silver medal is awesome!
ReplyDeleteway to go hunter!! that's a pretty great result for a first match!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Hunter! Kids love to receive medals and it's great when they work hard to get them. Yay!!
ReplyDeleteYour kids are so cute! That's awesome that he got the medal! I love when kids participate in sports. The games and matches are so fun!
ReplyDeleteI love this! I only have girls so we will never get to experience this unless my 2 year old ends up wanting to do sports. It is amazing how such young kids can be taught a sport like this. Good job for him!
ReplyDeleteLove to see kids involved in sports of any kind. I used to enjoy going to wrestling matches. Haven't been in a while.
ReplyDeleteWay to go Hunter!!!!! Sports are so much fun. I used to love to watch my nephew wrestle when he was in school.
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome young man. I know you're proud!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Hunter on winning a Silver medal. We never played sports in my family, so this was something different for me to read about, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteHow awesome! Go Hunter. Love that he was so proud of his medal.

Aw! I can just imagine how excited he is with that silver medal, and how proud you guys are, too! It must be so rewarding to watch your kids practice at something and then get recognized for it :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was a fun day. Good luck in his next tournament!

ReplyDeleteCongrats to Hunter. I bet he was so excited to get the medal!!
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Hunter! I miss going to wresting tournaments. My younger brother wrestled from 4 years old until he was a sophomore in high school. Hopefully one of my boys will pick up the love for the sport from him!
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessed boy: his mommy is his #1 fan and he has the love and support of his family. That's an olympic gold medal <3
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Hunter! It's great that he won a silver medal! It might help to build up his confidence so he can be more aggressive next time - Go for the gold! :)

ReplyDeleteSo fun! Way to go on the medal, Hunter!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your Hunter! Its always great when our kids efforts pay off.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the being less submissive will come with time. If he sticks with this I've heard that high school wrestlers can get great scholarships!
