New Years Resolutions, Say What?!

I've never been big on New Years resolutions and when I have made them, I have NEVER kept them… but I am big on improving. Everyone could change for the better, grow, and learn from their mistakes. Nobody’s perfect, right?! And I am definitely FAR from perfect. This year, I would like to work on being a better me. When my final day does come, I want to leave this Earth and my loved ones in peace.

With that being said, here’s what I would like to improve this year…
(Some are serious, and some are silly!)

Be a better wife.

Shocking, I know, but I can be a royal bitch sometimes. My hubby may drive me crazy at times, and some days I could probably kill him, but I truly am lucky and blessed in so many ways. I have a hardworking man who helps provide for our family so that I can spend more money than I probably should on things we don’t really need. I have someone who holds me when I’m upset over stupid stuff and just lets me cry, telling me everything will be okay. Who lets me bite his head off about things that usually aren’t even his fault, but always forgives me. Yes, I need to be nicer.

Cook more often and try really hard to eat healthier.

This may be the hardest resolution for me to keep, but I am going to try my hardest to cook all of our meals at home, pack my lunch for work, and not eat fast food. Okay, maybe we can hit the drive-thru once a week? =) I will be honest here and tell you that I take the kids through the drive-thru more often than I am willing to admit. It is so not healthy and not a good habit to get into. Sorry McD's, you won't be getting any more of this momma's money. Oh, and Starbucks? I hate to say this, but it’s over between us. $25+ a week is entirely too much to be spending on coffee!

Exercise.

I know I posted my goal pic (above) and that I was going to “Get Fit” a month or so ago, but due to some health issues that “popped up,” that had to go on the back burner for a while. I have a colonoscopy this coming weekend and am hoping to get all of my issues resolved so that I can start the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred again. She was kicking my butt, but it felt SO good!

Be a better blogger.

I know that I tend to go through spells where I just get too busy, or life happens, and I forget to blog… I am REALLY going to try to blog at LEAST once a week. I also have a horrible habit of reading the comments I get through my email on my phone and then forgetting to reply to them. This shall change! =)

Get organized.

Our house, especially our bedroom and our back porch, are SO cluttered. I seriously need to spend a few days to sort through it all, to donate a LOT, and to get it and keep it organized. Pinterest shall be my best friend through this task.

Save money.

It’s so hard. It’s not like we are ever short on money (not often, anyways), but we rarely have extra. I spend way more than I should. I don’t need to get manicures and pedicures, I can paint my nails myself. I don’t need to get my hair done as frequently as I do, I like my natural color anyway and should really let it grow back out. The kids don’t need new toys every time we go to the store, that’s what birthdays and Christmas presents are for.

Put more into Scentsy

I started selling Scentsy a few months ago and LOVE it! I haven’t been putting as much effort into it as I could though. I could do a LOT more!

And last, but certainly not least…
Be a better mom.

I’m already a totally awesome mom, duh. But there’s always room for improvement. I’m going to spend less time on my phone and more time with the kids. I’m not going to sit down at the computer to blog, unless the kids are in bed. I’m going to do more activities with them, regardless of how tired I am. This one should be easy! ;)

What are your New Years resolutions? Happy New Year, friends!

  6. I hate new year resolutions too and they set us up for failure. We often come up with this grandiose resolution then feel bad about not reaching it. You came up with a realistic set and I wish you the best of luck with them all! Happy New Year!

  7. Your resolutions are all great and attainable. Just keep in mind, though, that blogging isn't something that can be done only when the kids are in bed. :) As a single mom, I do that and I end up working until 3AM. If your blog is your business, then you need to treat it like one and give it the time it needs if you want it to grow. :)
